Boredom is getting a lot more serious attention lately, especially when it overlaps with disengagement, work fatigue, and endless scrolling.
A new Solitaired analysis adds fresh state-by-state data to that conversation.
Solitaired surveyed residents across the U.S. to measure how often people feel stuck in repetitive routines, then created a boredom loop score to compare states.
Key findings:
- 71% of Americans feel their life is repetitive, and they're basically living the same day on repeat.
- Nearly 1 in 3 say they are very bored on a typical weekday
- Chores and errands, daily work, and scrolling social apps are the most common activities that make Americans' lives feel repetitive.
- 46% of Americans frequently try to break out of their routine by doing something spontaneous or new.
- Women are more likely than men to frequently feel caught in boredom loops.
The story here is that boredom is showing up in familiar, everyday places: work, chores, and passive phone time.
